Been a hectic couple days

We've had a virus going around work. It apparently got into some computer and through the switch that some of ours was plugged into got into ours. It took our IT guy two about an hour and a half of updates and whatnot to get it out of my computer, and it took nearly that long to get it out of each and every computer. I guess on Tuesday when he did most of the computers, he didn't know mine was infected too. So my internet access has been sporadic at best.

David and I took some pictures of Dahlia tonight, so I thought I'd pass the along. I just love my girl!

Sigh...no one pays attention to me. I'm so neglected and so sad.

Sleepy dog.

Put 'em up...Erm...Sit pretty.
dorf
(I'm calling this the "Dorf" series...because series, doesn't she look like Dorf? See...here's another one.)

Serious dog. Someone told me she looks like she's getting ready to do a news report on CNN. She could have quite the career ahead of her...if only she could talk!

A proper sit pretty.

She fell asleep last night laying on her lamb and with her head up against her new seagull toy. It was just too cute.

We're pretty sure the shelter who named her Dahlia named her that because she was black. So yep, our dog is named after a murdered actress. Go Dahlia. LOL

Thanks for the book suggestions! I found the first one on ABE Books for fairly cheap (a great site to find used books all over the internet is bookfinder.com -- they'll tell you where it's available and how much it costs with the shipping on that site). I'm going to order it! I can't wait to read it.

OMG if you don't love it I'll be in shock! I've been sadly dissapointed in a lot of rereads from my childhood lately.

Julies wolf pack was just one very pissing me opff thing after another, And another one I remember just LOVING as a kid, Wolves at thge Door, just pissed me off beyond belife LMAO!

I actually like both of those books. LOL Though I like the original Julie of the Wolves better than the sequel.

I've been disappointed with some rereads from years ago (like high school age)...books I thought were just fantastic (not dog related or anything) and now I just can't even get that into them. It's hugely disappointing.

I mean the idea behind Julie of the wolves was good, but I've done research papers on Wolves in collage and such for my major and now the books are all;...WOW so misinformed.

I'll have to reread it. I've learned a lot more about them since I reread it a few years ago. What sort of misinformation is there? I haven't studied wolves except through reading some books, so I'm not as well-read on them as you are!

Well the general belife is that Wolves very rarely if ever except an outside pack member, but in Julies Wolf pack they just took wolves in left and right. Also if a wolf Pup is taken from the mother as a pup, even if its returned in most instences the Mother and the pack will kill the pups as they would smell of humans. Also in both books. Julies Wolf pack, and Wolves at the door they made a big too do about giving the wolves Rabies shots which its been proven unfortunantly only has a 10% Rate of working.

You'll have to excuse my lack of coherency today, I ripped up my back pretty bad and I'm on mega doses of Pain pills

Ok I knew about the former stuff...I just figured it was for good storytelling. lol

Has the rabies vaccination been proven unsuccessful? Last I read there was no proof either way, that it might work or it might not but they had been unable to prove that it didn't work, just as they had been unable to prove that it DID work.

It seems odd to me that dogs are a subsection of wolves (Canis Lupus Familiaris) but the rabies vacc would work on them but not wolves. But still, I thought they weren't sure.

There still trying to prove it can work, but there's only been a 10% Sucess rate so far, at least thats where it was the last time I looked into it, I could be wrong LOL
