LJ has been down all day

It's not the end of the world, though people over on FB sure do think it is.

I can't count the number of "AND I PAY FOR THIS OMG!!!!!11" posts I've seen on the Livejournal FB wall. Geez louise people. It's not the end of the world (though apparently I know nothing bout the "social web" according to one guy!).

I'm able to read folks' posts but I'm not able to comment and I can't post yet. So I seem to be more down than most! I think I'll just enjoy reading for a bit.

I talked to my Mom this afternoon and my Dad is doing a little bit better. Yesterday he could barely make it to the bathroom without being so winded he thought he would pass out. But today he's able to get up and go there and is only a little bit winded. He's definitely on the upswing though it's slow progress. We're guessing they'll keep him through to Wednesday at least just to make sure he's ok to go home.

Oh, LJ. That's why I pay no money to be there. Heh. I can't waste time here like I can on LJ because I only have a few friends here.

i was one of the people who was all the way down. couldnt view anything, couldnt post anything, couldnt even see entries i'd previously had open in my browser. even now it took multiple tries to just make a post. and while i could view the first page of my friends page, i cant comment on anyone or go any further. still rather frozen.

it was maddening when lj was down, but only because i felt cut off from everyone. i'm not mad at lj tho, its not their fault there are assholes launching the ddos attack (or whatever it was). i just wanna be prepared for the next time it happens so that i'm not cut off from everyone! i need my social media! and facebook does NOT cut it.
