Dahlia Christmas picture post

Dahlia and I went down to Petsmart today to get her picture taken with Santa. Everyone ADORED her there. We met a BC/lab mix who was 9 years old and a retired therapy dog. Nice dog. She and Dahlia got along great. We also met a lab/basset hound (which looked like a lab with very short legs and a bit longer ears), a Boston terrier who was larger than normal and really nice, and a whole lot of people who really adored Dahlia.

And then the groomer, who was just in LOVE with Dahlia, wanted to put a bow in her hair. She came out with a silly feather one. Awesome.

And then I had to take her outside to get some better pictures.

This is my favourite! Look how serious she looks! And yet so ridiculous at the same time.

Aw, too cute!!! We also went down but Arya was scared of Santa so our picture is pretty crappy. As a stroke of luck their memory card weirded out as we were taking pictures and so I got 5 or so minutes to work with her to like Mr. Santa. Mochi at first was neutral and then just fed off A's nervous energy. Bah! At least the picture is just them being mildly annoyed :)

Dahlia wasn't totally scared of the Santa but she wasn't thrilled with being in the back of Petsmart. Ever since this groomer was just NASTY to her back there, she gets nervous to go in the back. So she was a little bit "slinky" as we went back there. The guy did well with her, getting on the ground and stuff with her.

The photo above the one where you mention how serious she looks... she actually looks a little psycho in that one! I think you are giving her a complex.

LOL nah. She's trying to balance in a "sit pretty" move. Sometimes she starts to lose her balance and looks a little nuts when she tries to regain it.

LOL That feather just makes it!

I think the feather does. I was so happy the groomer came out and stuck it on her because it made for some of the silliest photos of her ever.

GOD, she is such a beautiful dog. And what a joy she is in photographs, she poses. It's like she knows how pretty she is and wants everyone to know it lol.

She does seem to pose. It's really adorable. As soon as the camera comes out she immediately sits or lays down and it almost looks like she's thinking "is this my best side?"

She really is a joy to photograph. She's beautiful, shines in the sun, and loves to be in front of the camera!
