Jamesville Beach photos
I took today off of work (yay!) and we headed out to Jamesville Beach's off leash area. I was really hoping to meet a lot of dogs, but only ran into a few. Two she had fun with, but one had a ball and was a resource guarder (why this dog was off leash in a designated off leash area when he had aggression issues I don't know) and went after her. We ended up leashing OUR DOG up when we went past them. *rolls eyes*
She did get into a good chase section with a lab/poodle cross who looked SO MUCH like
petulant's dog that I was actually looking to see if she were there. The lab/poodle cross and a hound/lab cross dove rite into the river after sticks and I was so hoping Dahlia would chase them right in, but no luck. She went into the water up to her chest at a couple points, but didn't go any deeper.
Anyway...pictures, not a ton, but some.
The first creature we met on our walk was not a dog. But a turtle! We kept Dahlia far away from it though as, well, it's a SNAPPING turtle.

Happy dog!

Swimming dogs!

Check out my super brave dog. lol

Maybe she has some kind of arctic breed in her? Brody would only go into the water at certain times of the year (unlike this dumbbutt who'll dive in the second after it melts) when it was reeeeeally really warm. He could swim just fine and loved snapping at the waves but would only go chest-deep most of the time. Through a bunch of reading I found out that most arctic breeds don't like water because where they're bred to work, water = death. Brod was Dane/Shep/Mal, soooo...who knows?

Maybe someday she'll figure it out!
That's interesting on the arctic dogs -- makes sense.
And haha yes! If it had been Darce it totally would have been a ball. But boy did he look a lot like him. Nice dog, crazy energy. And HILARIOUS when he got out of the water because he was like this twig dog with a poofy face. He look about 1/4 of the size after getting wet.

Yes! Around this time of year it looks like he's packed on at least ten pounds and then I took him to the lake the other day and showed my mom some of the photos after she was telling me I should "watch him on that" (Yeah, okay, he's only moving the equivalent of four + miles per day - I really think he's gaining. Eyeroll!). Shut her up pretty fast. If anything he needs to gain a pound or two. :P

LOL Poodle mix dogs are insanely fluffy. I always remember Pepper when she was in the bath because suddenly she looked like this scrawny little dog. The lab/poodle mix today was SO skinny. Much more so than Dahlia, who has a stockier build.
