I told you that last one wouldn't be it. I'm FINALLY done editing this afternoon's photos and got them all uploaded. So behind the cut are tons of pictures of Dahlia, along with two other dogs and some scenery stuff. The weather this afternoon, btw, was sunny. YAY. Snow is almost melted completely! There are just a few small spots of it in the shaded areas!!

When I got home earlier I found out that my 35-80mm lens had come already! And it's pretty and looks like it's almost brand new. Since it had gotten sunny out, I took Dahlia out for a few pictures.

Then we saw Ros out with Hershey so we went over to say hi.

This is Hershey. Yes she's overweight. Ros was steadily making progress with her weight loss, but now she has this mysterious limp which may be arthritis so she's had to cut back on the exercising a bit. She's cutting her food down quite a bit but there's only so much it can do. She's cute anyway. And a really nice dog.

Hershey says, "I can look like a scary dog too!"

Then this afternoon I took her down to the park where we hung out for awhile. Here's me trying for some action shots.

Slut dog.

No my dog does NOT pose, why do you ask?

See...NOT POSING.

"Mom, you have chicken liver treats on you, don't you?"

Then we ran into Chico, a 9 year old rescue Cocker spaniel who gives Cocker spaniels a good name. He is SO SWEET. If you squat down to try to take pictures of him he throws himself at you and leans on you. He LOVES attention. So that's why the photo's from up above.

Look! I can take pictures of something other than dogs!

The pond looks so pretty. Too bad it's a stinky cesspool you don't really want your dog to go into.

I love that cloud!

LOL I know. She was just groomed and she always comes back super fluffy and with HUUUGE pantaloons!

These are lovely. The chicken liver treats one looks like she's going to eat you.

LOL she was probably contemplating it if she didn't get the treat. ;-)

Looks like you're getting the hang of the camera! The moving shots were the hardest for me. Gorgeous!

Moving shots are the hardest, especially when you have dogs like yours who seem to be SO MUCH more active than Dahlia. LOL I'm going to try to take some pics at class today. I have no idea how they'll come out since the lighting isn't the best (indoor barn) and the dogs are moving fast. Worth a shot at least!

Well, most of my moving shots I tried to get inside, which is harder - especially when I was trying not to use the flash, since that would be distracting to the dogs. I shot mostly in aperture mode, although I did try to shoot in some of the other modes.

tl;dr: I probably should have taken classes to learn how to use my camera! lol

I really would like to take a class. I'm going to play with it this summer, read a book (DSLR cameras for dummies FTW!) and if I still need help I may try to take a class in the fall. The campus I teach for has a non-major digital photography course that's up my alley. If I can audit or take it for cheap I may try it out. They even have evening sections.

I have to admit that a part of me just wants to DO it because dammit it all, I miss being in school. How sad is THAT?

Admittedly, now that I have the summer off (and quite possibly FOREVER off if I don't get accepted to the graduate program) I'm a little lost...
