Pictures, part II!!

Jamesville Beach was so much fun. The dogs had a blast. We lost Lucy for a bit, which was scary. Apparently she must have gotten disoriented a bit and gotten lost, latched onto a hiker and followed him. If I remember the story right, a family in an SUV saw the hiker leaving Lucy there, thought she was being abandoned and turned her in at the lifeguard station. They knew what really happened though and weren't surprised for us to show up to pick her up. Phew! Crisis averted!

Guys, I took 474 photos today. FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY-FOUR. Damn. But I edited them down to like 194. And I won't share them ALL here. lol

Dahlia was actually the first to take the plunge into the water. She never swam, but she sure does love playing on the water!

Yes! It's amazing to watch! You can see how it's raised up and moving in some of the photos. Every dog I've seen swim keeps their tail below the water level, but Nellie's was moving around like a freaking rudder. So neat!

And Dahlia's shaking off photos just kill me. I am moving in with a long-haired dog soon and while he's old and not likely to go swimming, I shall make it my mission to get a photo of him shaking off if he does :-)

I love all of these. I'm glad they all got along! (Or, lucy with dahlia since nellie isn't a worry too much). All the wubba photos are the best with them playing together. So freaking CUTE.

I figured they'd get along ok. From her descriptions of Lucy, she sounded like a dog who was a bit like Dahlia in some ways (doesn't like to be jumped on, will issue warning growls if the dog annoys her, etc.). They had a couple moments where everyone was overly excited and crowding into one area and Lucy and Dahlia got a little snarky with each other, but it was over quickly and we haven't had any since.

Dahlia is RIDICULOUS about her tail. I don't know if she really cares about it that much but it sure does seem like it since it NEVER gets wet. And then it looks super ridiculous because she's wet and soaked and looks all skinny and the tail looks even MORE massive.

Okay, your photos have finally narrowed it down. I suddenly realised who Nellie keeps reminding me of! She reminds me of my 3-year-old. She has the same ability to be SUPER OMG SRS about randomly weird stuff (I'M IN UR RIVER, CONDUCTIN SRS BSNS), but then suddenly her face splits open and she's the shlooshiest-looking dog ever. My 3-year-old (human, in case you forgot again :P) Mr. Nibbles is EXACTLY the same!

It totally would! I usually call my kids by their nicknames because my eldest has a very unusual name and I'd rather not deal with his biological father's family - blergh!
